Corten koru art

$179.00 NZD

Koru meaning "new beginnings" is inspired by a new unfurling silver fern frond.

Coveted by galleries, Lisa's koru art measures 400mm in diameter and hangs at approximately 95cm long including steel and rope.  This is easily adjustable to suit your space.

The simple Koru Artwork is cut from premium NZ corten rusting steel and is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.

The koru is a spiral shape symbolizing new life, growth, strength and peace. It is an integral symbol in Māori art. The circular shape of the koru helps to convey the idea of perpetual movement while the inner coil suggests a return to the point of origin.

Comes ready to hang using a hook or nail.

Corten steel is an architectural rusting steel that is designed to rust. It has a copper content that ensures its core will not deteriorate and it will last a long long time.  Corten continues to look more fabulous the more it ages.

Raw corten steel is grey.  Lisa often gives the aging process a nudge by spraying with a solution of water, vinegar and salt.  If she hasn't had a chance to do this, pop your artwork outside and it will be on its way to fabulous in a couple of weeks.

NOTE. The second photo shows the black steel koru, rather than the rusting corten however it shows the full length of the piece.

To create the perfect outdoor space, it’s essential to select the right steel art pieces for your garden. Consider the size and shape of the area, and make sure that your chosen art is a good scale for the space. Also, be sure to incorporate a variety of shapes and textures for added visual interest. The beauty of steel garden art is that it can be placed in any setting - from rustic spaces to modern ones - so you have plenty of options when selecting your pieces!
