Lisa’s outdoor wall art collection is crafted from 3mm NZ corten steel, making it ideal for both outdoor and indoor walls.

Corten steel is a premium architectural material widely used in outdoor art for its strength and longevity. Designed to rust, it forms a rich, natural patina that seals and protects the steel beneath. This protective layer prevents corrosion of the core, ensuring Lisa’s art remains durable, weather-resistant, and visually striking for years. Over time, the patina deepens, enhancing the character and beauty of each piece.

Corten steel weathers best when exposed to natural outdoor conditions. Alternating moisture and drying cycles allow the protective layer to fully develop. During the early stages of weathering, some outdoor wall art  pieces may produce light rust runoff, particularly if the artwork is in direct contact with a surface. This is a normal part of the natural oxidation process.

To manage this, you may choose to allow your outdoor wall art to age off the wall initially, or simply rinse the surrounding surface with water after heavy rain. Once fully weathered, the steel naturally seals itself and runoff significantly reduces.

Please note: The front of each artwork is pre-rusted by Lisa and her team, while the back is left raw. This allows the artwork to be safely displayed indoors without marking interior walls.
