about Lisa

Lisa's art started purely by chance...

Lisa Turley of LisaSarah Steel Designs, at home

After an extensive search for something to spice up her newly landscaped garden, Lisa was disappointed with what was available at the time. With a desire to create, a growing passion for steel and an interior design background, she launched LisaSarah in 2007 - and hasn't looked back since.

Since then, over 50,000 pieces have been designed and made in her Auckland studio - wall art, garden sculptures, house numbers, address signs and custom work, each one finished by hand.

The brand began wholesaling in 2010, and Lisa is humbled to sell her work in some amazing design stores around New Zealand - as well as to homes, gardens and businesses across New Zealand, Australia and beyond.

Since 2007, LisaSarah’s work has also been featured in leading New Zealand and Australian home, design and landscaping publications including Home Beautiful, Mindfood, Trends, Your Home and Garden, Modern Home Australia, Australian Backyard Landscaping Ideas and Australian Home Ideas.

The work

Lisa introduces at least two new collections a year - her work is constantly evolving, reflecting whatever's inspiring her at the time while keeping an eye on what's current. But the thread running through everything is simplicity. Pieces designed to sit well in a space and stay that way.

Each piece is designed by Lisa and made from premium New Zealand steel in Auckland. Every piece is finished by hand.

Why steel

Steel suits the New Zealand outdoor environment better than almost anything else - powder-coated for colour, or corten for a natural weathering patina that only gets better with age. It's also the world's most recycled material: 100% recyclable, over and over, with no degradation.

Lisa's been working with it since 2007.  She knows what it can do.

A bit about Lisa

As well as an obsession with steel, Lisa loves pretty things, great design and cushions. She lives on Auckland's North Shore with her husband Baden and her boys Corban and Denham.
