How it works

1. Order online. Choose your size, shape and finish below, and tell us what you'd like it to say.
2. We send you a design proof. Your name mocked up in our current popular font and design options, so let us know in the checkout comments if you have a particular look in mind.
3. Approve or request changes. Adjust the layout, font or spacing at no cost.
4. We make and ship. Only once you've signed off.

Will I see what my name plate looks like before you make it?

Every order includes a design proof, emailed to you for approval, with no separate design fee for standard work. Nothing is cut until you're happy with it.

How long does it take?

Currently 20 business days from design approval, plus shipping. The proofing stage is usually just a few working days. We can't accommodate urgent orders at the moment.

How long can the name be?

It depends on the style you choose. On the floating signs, the length you pick is the full width of the name, so more letters means shorter letters and fewer letters means taller ones. A 60cm floating sign gives letters roughly 6 to 10cm tall for a typical family name. If you're not sure your name will fit the look you want, ask us before you order and we'll tell you.

What steel and finish options do you offer?

Choose from corten (weathering steel), marine grade 316 brushed stainless, which is the best choice for coastal homes, or powder-coated black, white or matte gold. Learn more about choosing the right steel.

Can I use a name in te reo Māori, or another language?

Macrons and accented characters are cut the same way as any other letter, so send the name through exactly as you want it written and we'll set it out on the proof for you to check.

Do I need to choose a font?

No, and most people don't. We email through our current popular font options to pick from. If you'd prefer something specific, send us a font from dafont.com, a photo of a style you like, or just tell us the look you're after.

Can I have a name plate and house numbers that match?

Many people do, and having both made by the same maker means the fonts and finish sit together properly rather than looking pieced together. See our house numbers and address signs.

Can you make a business or shop sign?

Business names, home studio signs and shop signage are all made the same way. For a logo rather than a name, send us a high resolution file and we'll quote it, as more detailed artwork may carry a small design fee.

Do you ship to Australia?

We ship throughout New Zealand and Australia. Free NZ shipping on orders over $250.

Where are your signs made?

Every piece is designed and laser cut in our Auckland studio using premium NZ steel or aluminium.
