outdoor wall dot hook | circle

$39 NZD

A simple circle hook in steel, designed by Lisa and made in New Zealand.  Made for outdoors, and equally at home in a bathroom, a bedroom or an entryway.

It does two jobs. It hangs coats, towels and bags, and it's the tidiest way to hang Lisa's rope wall art, indoors or out.

Sold individually, so buy exactly as many as your wall needs.  Three sizes, at 7.5cm, 10cm and 12.5cm across the front, all projecting 25mm from the wall.  Matte black, matte white and corten, with yellow available for a limited time.

Which size, and how many?

  • 7.5cm is the quiet one.  Good on its own beside a door, and the right size for hanging a piece of wall art without competing with it.
  • 10cm is the everyday size for towels and coats, and it holds its own in a row.
  • 12.5cm reads as a feature.  Use it on a wide wall or a fence, or where you want the hook to be part of the look.
  • A row of three or five turns a blank wall into something considered.  Mix sizes if you want it to feel less uniform.

Materials, installation and spacing

What are they made from?

High quality stainless steel with a Dulux UV-resistant coating, and a central detail in resin with a UV inhibitor added.  The corten version weathers to a natural rust the way our garden art does.

Can I use them to hang wall art?

That's what they were made for originally.  A 7.5cm hook sits neatly behind a rope hanging without drawing attention, and because it's rated for outdoors it works on a fence or a garden wall where an ordinary hook would rust out.

Will they hold a wet towel?

A full-sized wet towel is fine on the 10cm and 12.5cm.  For anything heavier, spread the load across two hooks and check you've used the right fixing for your wall.

How do I fix them to the wall?

Screws aren't included, because the right one depends on what you're fixing to. Into timber, use 8 gauge countersunk head wood screws.  Into plasterboard, concrete or block, use wall anchors made for that material and rated for the weight you're hanging.

Anything to watch outdoors?

Don't over-tighten the central resin screw. It needs a little room to expand through a hot summer, and forcing it is the one thing that will shorten its life outside.

How far apart should I space a row?

Around 20 to 25cm between centres suits most walls, at roughly shoulder height for adults.  Keep them in a straight line rather than staggered. There's more on arranging them in our hook wall guide.

How do I clean them?

Warm soapy water and a cloth.  Near the coast, an occasional rinse with fresh water keeps salt off the finish.

Where are they made?

Designed by Lisa and made in New Zealand, alongside her other wall hooks and wall art, so the finishes match across the range.
