A pool area or back door needs somewhere to hang towels, togs, hats and dog leads. Hooks that cope with sun, splashes, salt and chlorine, and look better than a plastic peg. That's what my outdoor hooks are made for. Here's how to choose outdoor towel hooks that last.
The pool fence, a cabana or pool house, an outdoor shower, the deck, the back door or porch, and the garden shed or glasshouse. Anywhere you'd normally reach for a plastic hook, a metal one looks better and lasts far longer.
For a pool, spa or coastal spot, choose marine grade stainless or a powdercoated finish. Marine grade stainless is the grade used on boats, so it shrugs off salt and chlorine. Powdercoated black or white suits a modern pool fence and stays sharp in the sun. Corten works too if you like a weathered look in the garden.
A row of hooks along the pool fence gives everyone a spot for their towel and keeps things off the ground. Space them so a few people can use them at once, and mount them at a height the whole family can reach.
