Corten steel

Corten steel is designed to naturally weather over time, forming a rich, protective rusted surface.

This process develops best when the piece is exposed to moisture and then allowed to dry. As it settles, there may be some initial runoff, particularly if the piece is in contact with another surface. This is part of the natural oxidising process and will reduce as the steel fully seals.

If preferred, you can allow your piece to weather off the wall initially, or simply rinse surrounding areas after heavy rain.

Each piece is lightly pre-rusted on the front, while the back is left raw to help protect interior surfaces if used indoors.  Learn more about corten steel.
